·          It is the responsibility of parents/guardians to ensure that their child has money to purchase their meal. Each student has their own meal account. Siblings may not use each other’s account without written permission from the parent/guardian. Parents are encouraged to go online to mySchoolBucks.com  to pay for their child’s meal. Using mySchoolBucks allows you to monitor your child’s meal participation and balance online. Please see the additional information regarding the exciting new changes to mySchoolBucks on the left side of this page. Students paying by cash or check may bring money daily or pay in advance. When paying by check, please make the check payable to CUSD Nutrition Services and note your child’s name (first and last) in the memo section. Large cash amounts and check should be turned into the school’s office in the morning. As a courtesy, cashiers will give a low balance notice to your child to bring home. Charging of meals is not allowed for full pay students.

·          It is Nutrition Services policy not to allow charging of meals for full pay students. If your child forgets or loses his/her lunch or money, the Nutrition Services Department will provide an alternate emergency snack so your child does not go hungry. The snack consists of:

2 ounces of protein (peanut butter, peanuts, trail mix or    cheese)

             1 serving of crackers

¾ cup total combination of fruit and/or vegetable

             8 ounces of white milk

There will be a limit of three snacks per student per school year.

Special Meals: If your child requires a special meal, the National School Lunch Program rules require our department to receive written approval from an authorized Medical Provider. If you need a form, you can find here, just click on “Dietary Restrictions” on the left of this screen and print, or you can contact our department at (916)338-6416 and one will be sent to you.

A new form must be submitted each school year; last year’s form is no longer valid.

If you have any questions regarding the Nutrition Service Department, you may contact us at (916) 338-6416.

Thank you for participating in the National School Lunch/Breakfast Programs.
