It's time to sign up for cooking club. Sign up forms are located in Room 313 with Mrs. Morris. The first 30 students to return a form with a parent signature will be accepted into cooking club this semester.

Husky Help has started. Teachers are available after school for 1 hour Tuesday through Friday. Please check the Husky Help calendar in any classroom, online, or in the front office.

The library will be open before school every day and at lunch on Mondays. You must have your ID card and a pass to enter the library.

Did you turn in fundraiser order forms today? If not, go home and sell, sell, sell. We will be taking orders every morning until our fundraiser ends next Monday. Remember, our goal is for every student to sell at least one order. We will be feeding the emojis candy every day until the end of the fundraiser so turn in your orders now, even if you have more to sell.

Hey Huskies!

Who's ready to go to the beach in Hawaii? Who's ready to dance?

If you answered yes, then come to the back to school dance this Friday! It's not really a beach and you can't wear your swim suit, but you can dress Hawaiian style and come have some fun. There will be pizza on sale, a snack bar and a photo booth.

So practice your hula and pick up a ticket at your lunch this week, the cost is $5.00 to get in.

Good Morning huskies! Happy Wednesday! This Friday our spirit day is Hawaiian day. So remember to wear your grass skirts and leis to show your school pride.

We now have _____________________ to lead us in the pledge.

Washington DC Trip 2017

Our trip for 2017:  Washingon DC - Williamsburg - Monticello.

This trip is my favorite of all the trips and all who have traveled have loved it!

Williamsburg is a living history site where you spend a day in colonial history walking the streets, visiting shops, eating the bakery treats, and watching historic events come to life.

Monticello is the home of Thomas Jefferson, our 3rd President (the back of the nickel). The view from his plantation is absolutely breathtaking. His home is full of treasures from the Lewis and Clark expedition as well as things he invented to make his life easier. You can also pick up a cold bottle of his root beer in the store--it's pretty darn good. We'll also go to have a lunch at the nearby Michie Tavern--best fried chicken around!

Finally, we head to DC where we will walk til we drop. The plan is to get tickets to the Washington Monument and maybe the White House (more difficult to get). We'll tour the Capitol building and see where our Congress members work. Arlington National Cemetery is a sacred spot where we will see the changing of guard and the Iwo Jima Memorial--ask your grandparents. Monuments abound in the city: Lincoln, Jefferson, FDR, MLK, Einstein, Vietnam, and World War II--we'll see most at night when they are most spectacular--all lit up. We've go to a few of the Smithsonian buildings too (Night at the Museum II). Other options (depending on what's open) will be the Supreme Court building and Library of Congress. We'll visit Mount Vernon, home of George and Martha Washington--over the years, they have made improvements to the site, and when I visited last fall, I was most impressed. We might even try the bread pudding (which I have never liked until I tried Martha's recipe!)

I hope you can join us on the journey; it's an unforgettable trip of a lifetime.

Here's a link to my school website.  At the bottom there is a link to our travel company with our trip number.  I have used this company for several trips and been with my rep for over 12 years. They are safe and reliable.
