Huskies, have you noticed the stop bullying posters in the classrooms and library? Are you wondering where they came from? The students in Mr. Asbury’s art classes participated in an anti-bullying poster contest to kick off our Stop Bullying at Our School Campaign.
Now, we want to announce the winners of the contest. The third place winner is - Guadalupe Alvarez. The second place winner is -- Emelyn Villeda. The first place winner of the contest is: ------- Jessica Burrus!
Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to all of the students who participated in the poster contest. So, check out the anti-bullying posters in the main office, your classrooms, and the library. Even more important, help us stop bullying at Riles Middle School.
Thank you to the people who brought in gently used coats, sweatshirts, sweaters, or jackets to support Girl Scout Troop 1309. If you have any to donate, please bring them to the front office. They will benefit children in our school district.
Hey Huskies, do you need to check your grades, take an AR test, or use a computer for your History or English class? If so, you can visit the tech lab every Wednesday, which is today, room 316, from 2:25-3:25. See you there!
Just a reminder, make sure to let your parents know where you are when you stay after school gets out!
This Friday Leadership is hosting the spookiest dance of the year. Come dressed in a costume and participate in the costume contest. It will be $5 at the door to get in. Bring some cash to spend too. We will have a photo booth, haunted house, and snacks! Get your ticket this week from a leadership student. We can wait to see you on Friday at 5 pm!
Next week is Red Ribbon Week. Each day will have a different theme. Monday's theme will be to wear neon colors to show how bright our futures are without drugs. Your teacher will go over all the themes on Friday so you know what to wear all next week.
Wow. Next week is a busy week. During lunch students will be selling Boo-Grams. A boo-gram is a note and piece of candy you can send to someone. Each boo-gram will cost $1. You'll write a note on it and it will be sent to your friend on Friday during 1st period.
