Project Lead the Way @ Center High School next school year!

PLTW’s hands-on, Activities-, Project-, Problem-Based (APPB) comprehensive curriculum is aligned with relevant national standards and is collaboratively developed and updated by subject matter experts.

PLTW’s programs emphasize critical thinking, creativity, innovation and real-world problem solving. The hands-on learning engages students on multiple levels, exposes them to areas of study that they may not otherwise pursue, and provides them with a foundation and proven path to post-secondary training and career success in STEM-related fields. Media Communication Academy

ENROLL in MCA

The Media Communications Academy is a volunteer program that resemblesa school-within-a-school model. The program begins the student's sophomore year. MCA students take their Social Science, English, Spanish and Media classes together. The MCA is funded by a grant from the Department of Ed. with the goal to motivate students to improve their GPA's, attendance and to also prepare them for life after high school. This is all done with a career tech focus in media & communications.

Motivational activities are a key component of the MCA. They include cross-curricular

projects and state-of-the-art Apple labs which includes a television studio. All academy

students are encouraged to go on the mandated field trips to colleges, television studios,

movie studios, cultural activities and sporting events.

Thank you for visiting our website. We believe Center High School provides opportunities for the development of academic excellence in expectation of creating responsible, productive and knowledgeable citizens. Our school emphasizes academics and appropriate co-curricular experiences that develop socially and academically successful students. School enrollment is currently at 1340 students and is growing each day. The Media Communications Academy (MCA) offers experiences for participation in the media world. Both the award winning “Epic” yearbook and the “Blue and Gold” newspaper provide opportunities for growth in the publications field. Our surrounding communities work together to create a safe and prosperous learning environment.

*NEW* Tardy Policy

Beginning January 4, 2012, progressive discipline will be utilized for students with excessive tardies. The policy is particular to each class period. Tardies are counted in each period as opposed to accumulated throughout the day. Here is a handy reminder of how the new policy works: Click Here
